Library Director: Thea Schoep
Thea Schoep started as Library Director of the Claverack Free Library in the spring of 2015 after having worked in the Mid-Hudson library system for ten years as a circulation clerk, director’s assistant and children’s programming director. She grew up outside of Albany, where she met her husband Jim. They moved to Livingston, Columbia County, in 1994. Before working for libraries, Thea taught pre-school for many years which allowed her the flexibility to be home as her children were growing up. When not at the library, you can often see her out and about running, knitting, and volunteering at local firehouse dinners. She can also be seen traipsing around town with her small, yet burly pup Lola while partaking of the dark elixir known as coffee.
