The Claverack Free Library is delighted to announce a series of free cooking classes, From Local Kitchens to Yours. Virtual classes will be “broadcast” on 4 Mondays, January 25, February 22, March 22, and April 26 at 6:00 PM.
What’s on the menu?
January- Chef Kevin Pomplun teaches All About Chicken from his kitchen at Jackson’s BBQ, demonstrating how to truss, brine, roast or home-oven smoke, and carve a chicken. Learn to make local corn meal & cheese polenta and grilled lemon sauce.
February- join Local 111 Chef Josephine Proul in exploring how to Cure Your Winter Blues with Citrus. From pulp to peel, learn inventive ways to brighten everything from drinks to salads.
March- from the workshop of Atelier Ku-ki is a lesson in making Omusubi, Japanese rice balls. Atelier Ku-ki is a husband & wife team committed to traditional Japanese cuisine, based on respecting the seasons and selecting the perfect ingredients and tools to create harmony.
April- April brings more international flavors as Chef Christopher Depew of This and That Food Truck invites us into his kitchen to watch him make Falafel, a staple Middle Eastern dish made from ground chickpeas, a popular street food around the world.
