Annual Meeting of the Claverack Free Library
The annual meeting of the board of trustees of the Claverack Library will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be conducted both in person and through videoconference via Zoom. Email director Thea Schoep at email@example.com for login details.
The library is now open for browsing, having continued to serve the community during the year-long health crisis through the provision of online materials, curbside pickup, and virtual programming.
On the meeting’s agenda is election of board officers from the following slate of nominees: President, Stephen King; Vice-President, Michael Sullivan; Secretary, Mary Elizabeth Vincent; Fiscal Officer, Betsy Cashen. Susan Roberts will serve as Treasurer. All terms are for one year.
The trustees also will discuss funding initiatives to ensure the library’s long-range financing. Because the trustees and FRIENDS of the Library have been unable to hold the library’s major fundraising events – the spring and fall book sales – for the past year, alternatives are in place to encourage sustaining gifts from donors. Additionally, the FRIENDS are holding ongoing weekly themed book sales inside the library and a raffle of three extravagantly filled gift baskets.
