CFL Annual Meeting

Annual Meeting of the Claverack Free Library

The annual meeting of the board of trustees of the Claverack Library will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be conducted both in person and through videoconference via Zoom. Email director Thea Schoep at for login details.

The library is now open for browsing, having continued to serve the community during the year-long health crisis through the provision of online materials, curbside pickup, and virtual programming.

On the meeting’s agenda is election of board officers from the following slate of nominees: President, Stephen King; Vice-President, Michael Sullivan; Secretary, Mary Elizabeth Vincent; Fiscal Officer, Betsy Cashen. Susan Roberts will serve as Treasurer. All terms are for one year.

The trustees also will discuss funding initiatives to ensure the library’s long-range financing. Because the trustees and FRIENDS of the Library have been unable to hold the library’s major fundraising events – the spring and fall book sales – for the past year, alternatives are in place to encourage sustaining gifts from donors. Additionally, the FRIENDS are holding ongoing weekly themed book sales inside the library and a raffle of three extravagantly filled gift baskets.
