Library FAQs
Q. What do I need to get a library card?
A. To get a library card, ask the clerk at the circulation desk for a registration form. Once your form is filled out, we will need to see an ID with a local address or and ID and something recent with your current address listed on it (like a utility bill) to complete the process. Cards are free for all residents, though minors will need a parent’s signature to complete the process. You can also register for a Library card online.
Q. Do you charge fines or late fees?
A. We do not charge fines for items checked out from our Library. However, we do still charge a replacement fee for lost or damaged materials. If you have damaged an item or believe that you have lost one, please speak to a librarian to discuss options for repayment.
Q. How can I renew items?
A. Checked out items can be renewed up to two times IF there are no additional holds on the item. Items will automatically renew if they are eligible about 3 days before their due date. If you would like to renew an item yourself, log into your MHLS account.
Q. Do you offer home delivery?
A. At this time we have limited availability for home delivery. The library director and staff are willing to help when they can, however it’s in a very limited area. Please speak to a staff person if you or a neighbor would benefit from home delivery.
We do offer curbside pickup allowing you, a neighbor or family member to pick up items in our vestibule.
