Friends Mission/Bylaws

Our Mission:

The Friends of The Claverack Free Library is an active volunteer group that supports the library’s mission through fundraising, programming and public advocacy.

What We Do:

The Friends care deeply about the library’s mission and the community it serves. Some of the library’s most popular offerings are Friends projects — including the fall Book Sales, the Museum Passes, the Children’s Summer Reading Program, the annual BookIt Run and Walk and our very successful Food Truck Wednesdays. The Friends are, simply, the lifeblood of the library.

How You Can Help:

Friends offer all members of the community a way  to actively take part in the life of the library and keep it humming.

You can become a volunteer supporting our many events. You can advocate for library services and funding with state and local elected bodies…  AND of course, you can become a member. Membership is available starting at $20 per year and every penny we raise is spent to ensure a vibrant library connected to the needs of our community.

Meeting attendance is not required but please know you are warmly invited to join us at our monthly meeting at 5 p.m. on the second Monday of every month.

We look forward to seeing you — and to having you as a Friend.
