History of the Claverack Free Library & Reading Room

Resident John Lee has spent many years researching Claverack and Columbia County history and    genealogy. He will present the Claverack Free Library and Reading Room in its historical context, the  meaning of a community library, its founders and early supporters, from the steps leading to its  creation and early organization to the present day as we stand poised to expand to meet the 21st  century needs of our community.
